The one kilo bags of instant mash can be found, for a limited time, in the supermarket's freezer aisle.
Some shoppers have gone so far to describe the Season's Pride potato as the best thing the German retailer has ever stocked.

'I use them to make cottage pie, they save heaps of time and don't taste artificial at all,' one time-savvy home cook said on a Facebook post about the potatoes.
Others described the mashed potato as 'next level amazing' and 'an absolute winner' at dinner time.
One woman said she simply adds butter to the frozen mash and is consistently delighted by the results.

This isn't the first time a potato-based meal has set customers into a frenzy.
Recently Aldi's pre-packaged potato bake was declared a fan-favourite.
One mum posted about the 'incredible' potato bake on Facebook after seeing others recommend the product.

She admitted the raw product looked quite questionable but once cooked it was 'delicious'.
'The kids loved it, I will be keeping some for back-up in the freezer,' she added.
The mum said it was 'a little dry' for her palate but others said adding some cream or extra cheese 'fixes everything'.
Others said they mix the potato bake with the retailer's broccoli bake to make it more interesting.
One mum said the potato didn't look very nice before cooking but was delicious out of the oven
'I could eat it all day,' one woman admitted.
'I could easily demolish a whole bag of the broccoli myself, so tasty,' said another.
One mum said she adds bacon and cream to hers while another said the secret to perfecting the pre-made bake was adding a lashing of béchamel sauce on top.
Another creative home cook even used the pre-prepared potato bake on top of their shepherd's pie.
