A HORRIFIED mum has slammed her "predatory" best friend for sleeping with her 20-year-old son behind her back.

Posting on Reddit's "Am I The A**hole" Forum, the 41-year-old mum revealed that her 32-year-old best friend started an intimate relationship with her son after "his first big real heartbreak ever."

Having first introduced her best friend to her son when he was 12 years old, the mum revealed how she'd originally told her bestie all the details of his break-up.

But the woman's friend - who stayed with the family "last summer while [her son] was home from college" - then became "weirdly friendly" with him afterwards.

Choosing to have faith in her friend, the woman said: "Considering he's my son and she's known him since he was a 12-year-old boy, I thought they were both just friendly people."

However, the mum then noticed something wasn't right when she saw "him constantly texting her" while the two were living under her roof.

She added: "I knew how vulnerable he was feeling after his heartbreak so I asked him if something was going on.

"He said no, I didn't want to intrude too much but asked her to 'cut back' on the friendly chatter with my kid. She said okay."

Thinking that was the end of it, the woman then recalls how irritated she was when her friend went home "and they are STILL texting constantly."

"I mention it to him again and he loses his s*** saying I'm being controlling."

But after raising the point with her friend again, the woman asked her to "just cold turkey stop talking to him" and that was that.

Fast forward a year later, the woman has now found out that the pair continued talking.

But not just that, that they actually "HAD SEX LAST SUMMER."

Rightly outraged with her friend, the mum continued: "Am I overreacting here? I find this very predatory on her part and disturbing."

And while the mum believes her friend has as "a tendency to lead guys on", she was even more horrified to find out it had been an "ongoing fling" which culminated with her son flying out to another part of the country to "see her behind my back!"

The woman added: "He says it was stupid, it's over and they're only friends now. But this is a grown a** woman with a divorce and three kids.

"He's a 20-year-old college student who has had very few relationships in his life."

"Am I overreacting here? I find this very predatory on her part and disturbing."

Although the woman asserts that she was trying to "help him through his heartbreak", the mother believes she "knows way more about him than he knew about her because she's my best friend and we talk about our kids!"

Unsurprisingly, other Reddit users have rallied around the mother - and even accused her friend of "grooming".

One replied: "This is definitely predatory behaviour as she has known him since he was a child and seems to have taken advantage of his heartbreak."

Another added: "Though your friend is in between your age and you son's, she knew it was wrong enough to hide it from you. Obviously, your son crossed a line too, but at his age and in his state it's more understandable."

However, not everyone was so considerate of the mother's attitude towards the relationship.

A third wrote: "They are adults! But I think there must be some kind of friend code that recommends against having sex with your friends' kids!"
